In the first quarter of 2024, the top 5 communication apps in Colombia showed varied performance trends in terms of downloads, revenue, and active users, according to data from Sensor Tower.

WhatsApp Messenger maintained a strong presence with weekly downloads peaking at around 424K in early January, followed by a gradual decline to approximately 252K by the end of March. The app consistently engaged users, with weekly active users increasing from roughly 20.6M to 21.2M over the quarter.

Telegram saw its weekly revenue fluctuate, peaking at around $4.2K in late February. Download trends showed a decline from about 204K in early January to approximately 141K by the end of March. Weekly active users remained steady, ranging between 1.98M and 2.02M.

WhatsApp Business experienced a steady increase in weekly revenue, reaching approximately $578 by the final week of March. Downloads peaked at around 116K in late February before dropping to about 91K towards the end of March. Active users grew from approximately 1.67M to 1.75M over the same period.

Truecaller: AI Call Blocker saw a significant peak in downloads, hitting around 161K in early February. Revenue trends also showed an upward trajectory, peaking at approximately $7.2K in late February. Active users increased from roughly 1.08M to 1.19M throughout the quarter.

CallApp: Caller ID & Block experienced a steady revenue trend, with a peak of around $2.4K in the final week of March. Downloads showed a decline from about 113K in early January to approximately 67K by the end of March. Weekly active users saw notable growth from roughly 976K to 1M.
